Description

Leaves and bark of the catappa have long been used in aquaristics in Asian countries. The almond bark is only much stronger in the effect similar to that of the almond tree leaves (Catappa Leaves). The humin and tannins contained substances, strengthen the mucous membrane of the fish and make it difficult to penetrate this protection. The bark pieces are equally helpful in the reproduction and rearing of your fish. It promotes the matting readiness of your fish.

Even blue algae (cyanobacteria) are inhibited by the substances contained in the reproduction. It is also worth noting that positive bacteria are proven not to be harmed for aquaristics. It is highly recommended to add a small piece of Catappa Bark or our Catappa Leaves to the transport water when transporting fish. This greatly reduces the susceptibility and stress of the animals due to the high germ load.

You can also prepare your fresh water if you want to perform a water change directly with our bark pieces. This is designed to reduce stress on your fish. By delivering their humin and tannins, the almond bark creates a natural environment and increases the vitality and well-being of your aquarium inhabitants. Nice is that for the extraction of the bark, no tree has to suffer or die.

The used catappa bark piece can remain in the aquarium as additional feed or hide-out for crustaceans and shrimps, or may be discarded.
